She is a gentle, motherly, and loving girl, albeit a bit quirky (she takes offense when called "old"). She is kind to everyone and volunteers at the daycare center in Mahora City. Being part of the Astronomy club, she is also a great cook with exceptional domestic skills. Despite her kindness, she can be quite intimidating when necessary. After Golden Week, she rescued an injured dog by the roadside, which turned out to be Kotaro Inugami, a half-demon boy searching for Negi. When Graf Herrman, a powerful demon, attacked Kotaro, Chizuru bravely stood up to him and was subsequently kidnapped. After Negi and Kotaro defeated Graf Herrman, Chizuru adopted Kotaro, who began living in their dorm as Natsumi's younger brother.
Chizuru displayed immense courage during her confrontation with Graf Herrman, calmly standing up to him and even slapping him when he threatened Kotaro. Although she does not participate in the mock battle at the festival, she does join the search for Chao late in the conflict and wins a gift pack for finding her (which she uses to intimidate Kotaro and Natsumi into silence). Her roommates are Ayaka, Natsumi, and Kotaro. Chizuru has the largest breasts in the class. Ken Akamatsu notes in Volume 8 character notes and the Negima Workshop that Chizuru shares many similarities with Mutsumi Otohime from his earlier work, Love Hina.
