Chachazero is a magical doll who served as Evangeline's Ministra Magi before Nagi placed the Dark Evangel under a curse. She resembles a smaller, more childlike version of Chachamaru. Unlike Chachamaru, who is powered by a minimal amount of magic and a spring, Chachazero requires a substantial amount of magical energy, primarily from Evangeline. Due to the curse, she can speak independently but cannot move unless there is a high concentration of magic in the area. This limitation is why Evangeline relies on Chachamaru instead.
Chachamaru is polite, kind, and well-mannered, while Chachazero is rude, abrupt, somewhat whiny, and occasionally bloodthirsty. She frequently complains about her inability to move and laments that her master has become too soft and not evil enough. This is because Chachazero enjoys killing and witnessing destruction. When she engages in combat, she wields two daggers, meat cleavers, and sometimes a giant sword larger than herself. She is often seen riding on Chachamaru's head or being carried like a marionette by Evangeline.
In areas with high ambient magical energy, such as Evangeline's resort or during the Mahora Festival, Chachazero can move around freely like a small child. She was also able to move freely in Kyoto when Evangeline's powers were unsealed. Chachazero seems to get along very well with Chamo.
In the anime, Chachazero takes on a more minor and childlike role. She appears in memories and voices Evangeline's request for Nagi to "please stay... I know we'll be happy together" and recurs in dreams depicting Evangeline's past defeat at Nagi's hands. She is also seen chasing butterflies. In "Negima!?", Evangeline commands an army of Chachazeroes during her battle against Nagi. In a later episode, one Chachazero distracts a Dark Seed Fairy to help the class save Negi from the Chupacabra.
In the manga, Chachazero and Chamo share a peculiar friendship. They are often seen observing situations together, making comments, and eating while watching events involving Negi and Evangeline, such as their sparring sessions or conversations.
