A bishop from the Barsburg Church, he convinces Teito to take the examination to enter the priesthood. The training he puts Teito through is rigorous and often involves his 'dolls', life-sized puppets he controls with Zaiphon. One of the 07-Ghosts, he is Fest. After Teito discovers that Castor and Frau are both among the Seven Ghosts, Castor decides to erase Teito's memories of the incident, as their identities must remain a secret. However, Frau stops him, explaining that if Teito loses his memory of when Frau revealed himself as Zehel, he will also forget Mikage's last smile (Frau transformed to save him when Mikage was possessed by Ayanami). His birthday is on December 24th. Castor's original name was Xinglu Hausen, a descendant of the 6th District's God House. The Hausen family was tasked with training assassins to handle dissenters against the Empire. Xinglu grew up under a strict father, while his mother was the only one who doted on him. Her love inspired him to create dolls in her likeness, stating that he would make a mother just for himself because his real mother belonged to his father. During an assassination mission, he heard beautiful singing from a noel mermaid locked in a cage. As the mermaid, Razette, grew attached to Xinglu, he was captivated by the beauty of her voice and rescued her. In turn, she opened his heart through her song and taught him how to smile. This changed his focus in doll crafting—he began creating Razette dolls instead of mother dolls. Xinglu even considered traveling the world as a puppetmaster, with Razette singing songs during his shows. But after the Raggs war, because the Hausen family supported the Raggs Kingdom, they were ordered to hand over Xinglu's head. Desperate not to lose his son and successor, Xinglu's father insisted that Razette change her face to be offered as a sacrificial lamb. Although Razette understood and was ready to comply, Xinglu stepped in front of his father's sword and was fatally wounded. In his dying moments, he saw only the spirit of Fest floating above him and has since become one of the Seven Ghosts.
