After the establishment of the SPK, Ratt stepped outside their headquarters and asked a passerby to lend him a phone so he could inform Mello about the information on the Death Note he had discovered.
Ratt was briefly seen receiving orders from Steve Mason to have John McEnroe pick up Soichiro Yagami and his daughter Sayu, who had been kidnapped by Mello and the Mafia in exchange for the Death Note. After Mello obtained the notebook, he used it to kill Ratt, along with half of the other SPK members, by forcing him to commit suicide by shooting himself in the head with a gun.
