Examinee #191 during the Hunter Exam, Bodoro is a martial arts expert and a strict, seemingly stubborn old man. In the original anime, he has an unspoken rivalry with another martial artist participating in the exam, but this rivalry is set aside during the perilous "bonus stage" after the Trick Tower orchestrated by Rippo. During his interview with Netero for the final stage of the Hunter Exam, Bodoro's personal code of honor prevents him from fighting Gon and Killua, whom he views as children, regardless of their combat skills. His first battle in the fifth stage is against Hisoka, who leaves him unable to land even a single hit, despite Bodoro's lifetime record of no one surviving a single strike from him. After a whispered word from Hisoka, Bodoro concedes defeat. His next match is scheduled against Leorio. However, before the fight can begin, Killua suddenly stabs Bodoro from behind with a razor-sharp hand, piercing his chest and killing him instantly.
