Romeo's best friend. He dislikes fighting and often serves as the voice of reason for Romeo. He is one of the few who genuinely cares about Romeo's well-being. After certain events, he and his family lose their nobility and go into hiding, aided by Juliet and her friends. Due to his background as a noble, he has little experience with manual labor, and Curio reluctantly offers him shelter. He later informs Romeo about an assassination attempt and expresses hope for the day Romeo becomes the Duke who will save Neo Verona.
He also takes care of Curio's house after Curio runs away, providing shelter to Cordelia and apparently Antonio following the assassination incident. Initially, Cordelia treats him somewhat like a child because of his inexperience with menial tasks, but it appears she is developing feelings for him. The couple eventually marries happily and has a child by the end of the series.
