kannagi ayano

Sixteen-year-old Ayano is a skilled En-Jutsushi and the next head of the Kannagi family. She is arrogant and often acts irrationally, frequently going against orders and acting on her own. Despite appearing undisciplined, she takes great pride in her heritage. Whenever issues arise for the family, Ayano fails to recognize that the problems are often caused by the Kannagi family's own policies, steadfastly believing there is nothing wrong with their methods. Though she claims to hate Kazuma, Ayano develops a crush on him but finds herself irritated when he makes advances towards her or gets close to other women, leading to fits of rage. Eventually, she realizes she is actually in love with him. Kazuma is the only person she sees as more powerful and commanding than even her own father. Ayano's power is the Crimson Flame, which she cannot yet control consciously. She wields Enraiha, the Kannagi family's sacred sword, won by defeating Kazuma at the successor ceremony four years before the story begins. The sword has fire properties and can be summoned by Ayano at any time. Her friends, Nanase and Yukari, are the only classmates who know about her abilities and that her family hunts demons and spirits. Ayano also has a sweet tooth, often spending time at cake shops after school indulging in sweets, especially when she's in a bad mood.
