The only other student who graduated with Negi and has been named is Anya. Although she resides in Wales, she isn't Welsh but likely Russian, given her full name is Russian.
A year older than Negi, they have been childhood friends for as long as they can remember. Haruna Saotome noted that Anya is one of the few people Negi speaks to informally. She helped Negi pack for his trip to Japan, and her mother was among those turned to stone by Wilhelm's attack.
During the Legendary Mahora Martial Arts Tournament, Alberio summoned her as she appeared on the cover of the books he used as his Pactio artifact. At the time, she had been working as a fortune teller in London on assignment from the Magical Academy before returning to Wales (it's unclear if this was just a vacation or a permanent return).
As of chapter 179, she has come to Japan to bring Negi back to Wales (under the pretense that Nekane wanted her to), but she seemed to explode with emotion upon arriving at a beach and seeing Negi with Asuna. This scene also revealed Nodoka and Yue, both of whom have feelings for Negi like Anya herself.
Anya appears to be a grumpy girl around Negi, often shown frowning, though she seemed excited about him coming back from Japan. She immediately dislikes Asuna, partly due to Asuna's more developed body, and takes an immediate liking toward Yue and Nodoka, who have similar figures to hers.
She uses fire magic, particularly a diving kick attack, but tends to accidentally set her clothes or hair on fire if she isn't careful. She has also demonstrated a flaming punch. She stays with Negi and his class during their short vacation at a beach resort. Anya seems to dislike the more well-endowed girls in Negi's class and was unaware that Negi has already made seven Probationary Contracts, while she has none. Upon discovering the contracts, she becomes dismayed, especially when she learns that Negi has surpassed her in magic and isn't helpless without her.
Currently, she, along with everyone else, is scattered across the Magical World. In Chapter 282, it is revealed that Anya has been captured by Fate and is being kept as his prisoner.
