Aneyama is one of the main antagonists in Riki-Oh, featuring prominently throughout the series, second only to the main character in screen time. A devout follower of Mukai, Aneyama goes to great lengths to ensure Riki-Oh's capture, driven by his plan to end the world and his own perverse desires. His hatred for Riki-Oh grows rapidly, leading him to torture Riki-Oh after defeating him in their first direct confrontation—forcing Riki-Oh to watch as he murders innocent people, leaving Riki-Oh powerless to intervene. Aneyama appears to be a young to middle-aged man, but in reality, he is over 80 years old. He uses his immense wealth and power to undergo monthly plastic surgeries and organ transplants to maintain his youthful appearance. Though not physically capable of fighting, he compensates with high-tech armor that significantly boosts his strength. His most formidable ability is firing bullets in patterns designed to drain his enemies' strength, a tactic that proves effective when conventional firearms have little impact. Aneyama is ruthless, executing subordinates for minor infractions like dropping a hair in his tea or mentioning his age. The only person he truly values is his deceased sister, the only woman he ever loved, whose death led him to embrace homosexuality. Despite his cruel treatment, he tolerates his second-in-command, Dr. Kohinata, due to his competence and usefulness, including developing Aneyama's power armor and other inventions. Kohinata is the only subordinate spared from execution for minor mistakes, though Aneyama still treats him harshly. Aneyama is one of only two villains shown to have direct contact with Mukai, the other being Washazaki, who was quickly dismissed. As such, Aneyama acts as Mukai's primary enforcer and voice, executing most of Mukai's plans given Mukai's insanity and reclusive nature in Antarctica.
