Akari's first customer as a Single. He is a tall, impatient young man who calls Akari "Pigtails" (momiko) to tease her. Working as an apprentice Salamander, he helps maintain Aqua's climate in the floating buildings tethered overhead. Despite being drawn like a typical bishonen, his constant scowl and loose-fitting robe usually hide his more attractive features, which he rarely shows. His older brother takes great pleasure in giving him a hard time. Akatsuki is also Woody's childhood friend and knows Al the gnome, often seen in the company of Woody and occasionally Al, much to Aika's annoyance since she doesn't like Akatsuki but loves Al. Akatsuki has a heavy crush on Alicia, frequently calling the Aria company phone just to hear her voicemail message. He isn't opposed to spending time with Akari if the mood strikes him or asking her for help with various tasks, such as carrying the many roses he bought for the Boccolo festival. Naturally, he took Alicia's sudden marriage at the end of the animated series quite badly. However, in the same final episode, he gathers enough courage to invite Akari for a visit to his workplace when she is free, suggesting that he may have shifted his affections towards her.
