Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa Chapter 59 Discussion

This is the conclusion of the story of Nausicaä. A really pleasant story with an ecologic fable and message towards humanity and nature. Thank you M. Miyazaki for this work that will stay forever in history.

Yeaahh, still a bit unsatisfied by the ending.

But still, imagine Nausicaa be remade, by nowadays animation quality

Epic.The Ending is beautiful why?

Loved the manga although I felt it could have ended better. I wish there was a sequel showing nausicaa and the other princess girl rebuilding civilization. Also nausicaa and selm are the true otp.

Overall it is a 9.5/10 for me. Would be perfect if it had a more satisfying ending.

Almost every character in the story is likable in their own ways, and the concept and themes blend together well due to great writing and art. The story and characters reference many other works, but each reference is a matter of satisfying execution. Top 8 Favorite series of all time, 9.5/10

Some parts of this the manga dragged on for too long, but it picks up at the end.

Nausicaa's actions at the end make sense, since the "master of the crypt" was planning to destroy humanity and replace everyone with a new race, as I understand it.

Still, the ending message confused me a little. Was she saying it's fine for humanity to die out? I suppose it's true that eventually everything has to end, including humanity, but that doesn't make it okay to do nothing about it. Is everyone really going to die once the forest has finished its job?

Honestly, I'm not totally into the message.

Still 9/10, but barely. What I liked most about the story for me was the "twist" at the end. How the manga started being all about how "nature is purifying the bad humans" but later it turns out that it was all by human design. At first, the manga seems to be going all in on "humans bad, nature good," but later, it turns out things are more complex.

Yeah, the ending felt entirely out of left field.  The twist at the end was very good, of course, but the final panel itself is pretty much "and they lived happily ever after."  Perhaps after spending so much on and off time on the manga, Miyazaki just wanted it over with?

Still loved it.  A really incredible story with a very imaginative and interesting setting to back it up.  I just wish it was more widely appreciated so I could talk about it more.

The ending does feel a bit abrupt and I kind of wish we got to see what happens to the world towards the end.

Anyway, I enjoyed this a lot. I really liked Nausicaä, which is weird because I usually dislike characters like her.
