Good, hopefully the author will keep Musashi alone forever, a sad old hermit in the mountains banging trees with a stick and writing an influential book.  Ending up with Otsu would be too cliche.

Sad though it may be, this is a smart and realistic decision on Musashi's part. Otsu would most likely be killed if she and Musashi were together, or they would be constantly on the run.

Anyway he's finally decided that going back and having a happy life with Otsu is impossible. I guess this is gonna take at least 2 to 5 more chapters. At least before we get back into action.

Yep. It's already too late because he is already devoted to the sword plus his name is already famous. Many people would come to him and slash him.
