Yeah, the next arc will be the final one of the series, though the English scanlations are still far from catching up to the manga Raws. the latest chapter in Japan in chapter 173 so I guess it is pretty lengthy. from what I've read in different forums, Samura seems to wrapping up the last loose ends.

The brat with the mask was Kawakami Araya's kid. Rin lied to him about Manji ending up dead after he killed Araya. basically, Manji is the object of the brat's revenge. the other guy is Shira, you know the bloodthirsty bastard that framed Rin and Manji after Manji hacked one of his arms off. He then faced Magatsu a while later and lost another arm. between then and now, he seemed to have ended up incarcerated in the dungeons of Edo Castle.

Hell yeah, Shira is back.

As we learned from the experiments, if Manji wants a new arm, he can just cut it off of someone and put it on himself.

Everything just went to hell.

Wow, Shira and Renzo are on the loose, Manji's in even deeper shit now especially with one arm.

I remembered the kid, but couldnt place the guy, till reading this thread.  That psycho was one of my favourite characters, he looked different early in the manga I think, but looks kind of more generic now.

That's the most stupid and exagerated twist I've seen in a while... That whole arc was uneven to say the least, but the last few chapters have just been plain terrible. I hope it picks back up now that it's over.

                Bummer, Manji leaving Edo Castle without his left arm. well, things don't always go as planned. at least Shira didn't go completely ballistic at the sight of Manji. the 4th story arc is coming to a close, and proceeding to the 5th (the winter war) and final arc. Rin and Manji's reunion with Doa and Isaku should prove to be very amusing.
