The art is too confusing for me, but the story seems to be good so I'll keep on reading. Also, wtf is wrong with that dude, putting women heads on his shoulders?? Don't they rot with time? How does that even work?
My gut reaction is that how he responds to Machi's death feels very "off" but I guess you could argue the real Machi is long dead at this point, but I can't help but think of another manga that had a similar situation and can't imagine characters acting anywhere near as despondent. So I dunno, that really tainted this first chapter for me. Still I quite enjoyed it though.
Saw this in an issue of Otaku USA, might consider reading more. As far as first chapters go, this was okay. The art was really good though, and people seem to like it... so we'll see.
