Neon Genesis Evangelion Chapter 83 Discussion

I don't have that much of a problem with the manga following the End of Evangelion, but this chapter has shown a key difference; Shinji has resolved to help Asuka. In the movie, Shinji declined to help Asuka and spent his time just moping around EVA-01. The fact that Shinji is moving forward at this point makes me believe that the manga will end differently. The other question is to figure out what happens with Gendo because that could be another big change.

So Sadamoto did put the kiss scene after all...

I was hoping he didn't, but oh well..

Making things too different from EoE would be pretty dumb imo, as EoE is freaking brilliant. But, yeah, Shinji wanting to actually save Asuka as well as how Asuka woke up were some key differences, along with Gendo's scenes.



Misato is dead, but I like how she took out those soldiers with her here. Asuka is still handling herself well, but her timer is running down quickly. Shinji pleading for his mother to help and Unit 01 answering the call was cool, I hope he makes it in time.....

Everything is still following EoE, but I really don't see how this could be much different and still be close to EoE's ending. It is a manga adaption of the series/movie, so I don't know why people want things to be so different.

Pretty much identical to End Of Evangelion...
