Neon Genesis Evangelion Chapter 42 Discussion

Misato thinks that, despite her words, she really is fighting to avenge her dad. An angel attacks before Shinji can leave. While Misato and the others at Nerv sortie Rei and Asuka, Shinji is found by Kaji.

Shinji only finds appreciation from others when he's in the robot. So sad

Am I the only one who feels these angels are getting stronger just for the plot?

                        This chapter is a nice breath to allow the energy to cool from the previous chapters.  Unfortunately, it felt way to short and was only used to provide a transition into the next chapter.  I feel this chapter would have been better if Shinji had an epiphany of sorts or drew an understanding of some significance.  

Really liked the symbolism with the closed window being synonymous with Shinji's heart being closed again.

Next chapter is one of my favs because it deals with something the anime never does (frustratingly), Kaji's backstory.

Is Kaji just there to drop exposition now?

This chapter did seem short, but that's because the appearance of this next angel, and it blowing stuff up took several pages. Huh, Kaji showing up here. That's different. Watermelons again? Surely the manga will have watermelons too.



This is my favorite angel battle, I can't wait to see it.

And Shinji is depressed again.
