Neon Genesis Evangelion Chapter 11 Discussion

                        Kensuke is definitely a nut job, but that is one of the reasons I like him so much.

Misato was kind of harsh but her statements about having an insecure pilot being trouble and his way of acting getting him killed is true. I kind of get the feeling she is doing this to protect him. For Shinji's part, I think he feels betrayed after seeing Misato's journal. He wanted to believe she cared for him after letting him live with her, as well her words of encouragement in chapter 6.

Shinji's monologues are one of my fav things in the manga.

Feel bad for the lad though. He knows the fact that he is an Eva pilot gives his life some sort of meaning in people's (and especially his father's) eyes; but what he really wants is relevance for what he is as a human.

Misato's kind of playing the 'good cop, bad cop' routine. At times being unusually harsh and at times probably the only one who tries to understand Shinji as a human. Makes their tumultuous relationship that much more intriguing.



Also Kensuke is one crazy war freak.

I relate to Shinji a lot more than I'd like to admit

Don't remember this being in the Anime, the scene with Kensuke and Shinji, remember him walking alone at night.

Enjoyable chapter, Misato is really giving it to Shinji

Shinji's face when Kensuke was behind him was classic. Toji and Kensuke are slowly becoming his friends. Shinji's inner thoughts that weren't expressed in the anime definitely made this chapter interesting.
