Incredibly well-crafted for a webnovel, particularly of the Harem genre. The novel is set in a medieval fantasy world that had its clock advanced a few decades into a modern society. The world the protagonist lives in is like a dystopian society, focused solely on efficiency. Despite that, emotion is one of the key plot drivers in this novel, which makes for an interesting dynamic. This is mainly a character-driven narrative, which is a good use of the protagonist's mind-reading powers. Every character feels vibrant and complex, yet grounded enough in reality that the reader doesn't feel detached from them. Mind reading is used to achieve this. It allows the author to introduce the true essence of the characters to us while avoiding exposition or unnatural moments of vulnerability. I haven't seen the power of mind reading used in such a way before, and I think it's fairly impressive.Every character in this novel has a fun dynamic between their inner thoughts and their outward behavior, and effort is taken to flesh out even the most irrelevant side characters. This doesn't make the novel feel dragged out, however, because the author is careful not to introduce unnecessary characters to the story. It does cause the pace of the plot progression to slow down though, if that matters to you.If I have but one worry, it would still be the Harem tag. So far, the main heroines haven't had much time to compete with each other yet. Useless filler based on heroines competing for the MC is one of the main downfalls of every Harem novel. I'm also concerned that the author will start to flatten and simplify their characters once the MC builds up too wide of a party. However, the story has not begun doing so yet, so the novel still deserves a 5-star rating.Overall, I strongly recommend this novel for anyone looking for a good character-driven narrative.
