This made me very emotional. XDSo, it's basically a trope reversal. It acknowledges and has tropes, but it twists them into something more exciting/fresh. As the author admitted, it's basically Domineering CEO (omega) x 2-meter Puppy (alpha).I love the MC! He's the puppy/doggie/golden retriever at heart, and he's quite refreshing for a BL MC. He's not whiny or s*upid. He has some flaws (goes along with the flow maybe a lil too much), but he's mature and has an overall great personality.The ML is more closer to the stereotypical CEO ML, but he ain't toxic. Their relationship gets quite close to being toxic sometimes (there's a huge power difference, so it's not surprising), but it never really gets there. He's quite controlling in his mind and his words, but he's overall soft-hearted (esp in his actions). His denseness is what leads to most of the novel's drama/angst (aka the exciting parts for me XD), but his character development is done well imo.I cried at the angsty bits. The author really made the characters feel real enough to cry about. I'm not saying this is peak characterization/writing, but for a somewhat short BL novel, it's quite solid. I was hooked and read the entire thing in a day (cried about 5+ times because I'm weak like that /j). The side characters aren't super interesting (there aren't that many tbh), but they do their job and are memorable.Overall, it's a solid read. There are some funny moments, and the romance has angst and fluff.
