Wow, I have read 103 of the released chapters, I regret even reading past chapter 10.MC Franz is an Alchemist who is acting like a Clandestine Eminence Hero for the adventure party he was in. He did everything, but what he was hired to do for the party. He was hired to use parts of monsters to presumably make rare items for the party to sell or use. Not only that, but he used the profits of being in the party to make rare materials for himself. Did not actively help in any fight the party did. He secretly enchanted the Hero's sword and did odd jobs without being asked to do so.He made barriers using Alchemy to stop high-tier monsters from entering the capital. Furthermore, he was not asked to do this, nor did he tell anyone the reason why monsters were not approaching the capital. He did not once explain to anyone in the guild that all his magic power was being used to prevent monsters from entering the Capital. Franz is a narcissistic villain who expects people to praise him for his work behind the scenes. He believed that his Party mates, guild master, and the Kingdom had read his mind and were too shy to thank him publicly for his good deeds. He was on purpose, hindering every Adventurer in the area, preventing them from good drops and money. Likewise, he lulled the kingdom into a false sense of peace before shattering it like glass. In my belief, Franz has a communication disorder that prevents him from explaining his work ethic to other humans. He fully explained his work ethic for a monster to understand yet neglected to mention he did it of his own free will without being asked or paid to do so. It is mentioned in chapter 40 that he is a reincarnated person from Japan. He either died young or is stuck in a Chūnibyō stage as an adult. It is possible he was stuck in a Black Company where he was expected to take the initiative for any job or future job that could happen from his actions. For example, preparing for a board meeting while also going to the meeting early and inspecting the floor, equipment, and wall sockets for any problems. He was supposed to think 10 steps ahead, even preparing a special latte for the board chairman to enjoy while he was presenting! So he does what any typical Angsty teenager does when they feel like they have been wronged for their hard work and dedication. Decides to release the barriers he made to satisfy his ego, allowing countless monsters to roam free and attack innocent civilians. He removed the enchantment on the Hero's sword, possibly erasing the original properties, making it a regular sword. As well as leave the area, knowing that monsters are intelligent beings and capable of rational thoughts. If being forced to stay in one spot for years and the magical power of the enchantment is being sent from one area only. The rational thought is either the person is dead or they moved on, and it is the perfect time for revenge. Here comes the cliché, every single monster that admits defeat turns into a human-like girl and lives with him. He somehow with barely effort develops farmland and a house with barely any architectural knowledge. Everything he tries works out for the first time. The fight scenes are boring and lackluster. The chapters are short, and the author keeps changing the names of his harem in every chapter. The girl's name was Reah then it became Rear, then Lia then Ria.I will give it 5 stars for the cringe. 2 stars for the translation quality. 1 star for the short chapters. 1 for the ridiculous plot armor. The average is 2.25 stars, so it gets 2 from me.
