My rating of this series is an average between the earth arcs and the fantasy world (I will call this the main world for the remainder of this review) arcs. If you skip the earth arcs my rating is a 4/5. If you don't its definitely in the 2-3/5 range. The earth arcs are tr*sh. Don't read them. They add almost nothing to the actual story, the author spends an eternity on the earth arcs and the writing for them is some of the worst I have ever seen. They have heavy undertones of Chinese nationalism, the humor is incredibly cringe to the point where it is actually painful at times, you don't care about any of the earth characters. Its boring and grinds the plot to a halt for no reason. The earth arcs are irredeemably terrible. The main world arcs are what hold this novel up, and in my opinion they are great. The writing is far, far better on the main world. You actually care about the events that happen on the main world, and actually connect with the characters. The plot is fairly interesting as well on the main world.
