I am in chapter 4.17 for the record. I have found the early chapters funny and refreshing. Once he advances, you see a more slice of life with the usual political entanglements. Not bad to explore a world and get involved, but the story is a long and winding one, so be prepared for its nature to shift over time. I like the supporting characters and the flow is fine, if a tad slow or drawn out for portion of the "accounting" of his life. I would recommend this, not as a gem surpassing its genre to become an auto-recommendation, but as a good example of its genre.
