This is by the same author as "The Novel's Extra", which is very apparent within about 3 chapters and only becomes increasingly more so as the story goes on.Almost every character/trope is directly lifted from that book to this one. This means if you liked that book, you'll probably like this one. If you didn't like it, you definitely won't like this. For what it's worth, I personally like both of them (and think this one is probably slightly better so far). However, they share some of the same annoying weaknesses. Starting with the over-emphasis on Spoiler
"everyone hates the main character for no reason" for the first 100 chapters or so. The completely random overt hostility gets a little old at a certain point, especially when it's really obvious how these same relationships will turn around eventually.
[collapse]The author also gets sidetracked with absolutely random and asinine plots Spoilervideo game world, what the hell? Why? Time loop? Wtf?
[collapse]The power scaling doesn't really make any sense, and the main character can basically just pull rabbits out of his hat and do anything with his ridiculous overpoweredness. It doesn't really bother me in particular but I can see why it would others. However, with these weaknesses comes strengths as well. The overall story is engaging and you have relationships that change over time as the main character wins people over, which is fun. It's also generally well written most of the time. The translation is solid.Despite the weaknesses, I'd say relative to the average on this site this is deserving of 5 stars.
