I've been trying to figure out what about this novel that had me so enthralled by it. The romance is absolute dogshit, if you can even call it that. It's practically nonexistent. The intro for this novel was pretty damn rough but it set in stone exactly how the main character would be. He's pragmatic, and self-absorbed but one of the more down-to-earth protagonists I've seen in a long time. Seriously Spoiler
There are numerous times where he calls out the girls for having too low of an opinion of themselves for falling for him so easily and just smoothly turns them down before they even have an opportunity to confess to him.
[collapse] I wouldn't say this an absolutely amazing book but for a Chinese Wuxia novel, this honestly might be one of the best starts I've read. Hoping it continue to remain that way.
