I LOVE this specific mixture of romance and plot.

The story at the forefront is a feel-good shounen-genre type buildup and plotline for the creation and consolidation of the Calvary (MC's troops). Secondary to that is MC's mystery veiled past which slowly unravels as time goes on. The romance is a very slow-burn, where the division is like 80% plot and 20% romance. The side characters and relationships are well-developed and interesting. Very memorable cast of supporting characters. The storyline is a fantasy adventure plot, done well.
