Well, the description isn't wrong. The golden fingers were extremely op and plentiful that hardly anything really felt like it came from the MC's own merit. In the beginning there was at least a bit of struggle and effort into writing the familial dynamics but after a while all the progress was glossed over and it all felt uninteresting. The relationship between the MC and ML was also pretty lackluster.
