This novel is primarily a mystery/horror thriller with a historical twist. That part was well done; there was a great deal of historical knowledge backing up the plot, and so all that was believable. What didn't feel believable was the romance which felt forced and lacking. I saw no real connection in most of their interactions to support that, (right up to 80+ chapters) despite the plot of obsessive love and self-sacrifice. Also, warning: there is one instance of dub con.Spoiler
MC slept with ML when he was blind drunk, and clearly waiting for someone else to fill the bed. Then he slid away before it was discovered. Wtf? There's no moral high ground for that one.
