Well, he could do it right now. The question is: how long will it be until he can spar with his masters without dying in the process? Guess there's still a looong way to go. Anyway, Kenichi does have his awesome moments and this was an awesome chapter, even if it's only purpose was to show what he learned from the training with Shigure.
