I absolutely adore the dynamic between the FL and ML. The FL acts cold towards the ML but truly cares for him and fortunately he can see through her cold facade and indulges her whims. ML is very petty when it comes to the FL, he even gets jealous of his own father when the FL expresses her concern towards him. The two of them like to banter and argue but in the end, the ML relents to the FL and she doesn't have it in her to get mad at him for a long time. The two of them work really good together, I love that both of them actually have personalities and aren't just human icebergs. In fact, they feel very human and their dialogues are very entertaining to read and feel realistic for an actual couple. The familial relationships are also on the more light hearted side, as so far no one is plotting to kill each other or anything of the sort, rather it's foreign clans that are the root of the strife though as usual the traitor plot does exist.Aside from the ML and FL, I also enjoyed reading about the other characters. Watching the relationship between ML's father (Emperor's Adviser) and FL's younger brother (Emperor) shift from a strict teacher and a semi-resentful student to something akin to a father and son was very heartwarming. All of the characters had their flaws but when they realized it, they really tried to change for the better.Overall, a great read!
