One thing I like about this story is that after I think that I know all about what's going to happen, the author gives us a new way for things to play out. By that, I mean that the character of Jiang Li (our MC) is a bit of a Mary Sue because she has a woman who has lived a little bit longer and in a more interesting situation (Xue Fang Fei who was married and plotted against) taking over her body, but as a result, she doesn't handle situations the way I predict. For example, I know she's going to turn the stepmother's plot around on her, but the way she does so isn't direct. More things add to the plot and her method of attack is different because she doesn't feel the original's pain. She has her own agenda for revenge and avoids plots (as expected of a revenge, face slapping story) but she's somewhat indifferent to the hate of the family towards her. That's a little refreshing.
