With a satisfying crack to the skull, Jotaro demolished Dio and in a single moment, the predator became the prey. Panicked and trying to escape as Jotaro, calm as ever, poured gasoline all over him and blocked every escape route he tried to take. I’ve always adored panicking Dio so it was a delight to see, especially the page of him realizing his brain had stopped functioning properly. Like, Jotaro even did the Petshop and appeared inside the sewer Dio was practically digging towards! Despite the amount of respect both men hold for each other, going to great lengths to demolish the other evocative of Vanilla Ice and Polnareff, Dio managed to get hit into Joseph; as tenacious as we’d expect. That was where he wanted to go all along. So despite being literally deflated and having his clothes torn, he’s healed and entered boss phase 2. I can't say I'm thrilled for such a development, in fact that was a very small amount of 'breads' he had to eat, but it's whatever, I'm hopeful to see how this all ends. Seeing images of this Dio design, I’ve always wondered how it would happen.
