This novel has no important goal in the story compared to other transmigrated stories so it just feels like a slice of life, which isn't a problem. The problem is that almost all of the characters are boring and doesn't create any entertaining interactions with each other.I say almost all because the thought process and character of the tragic heroine (the duchess) is interesting. She is an eager learner with such a logical way of thinking that the only reason her plans are failing is because it is impossible to deduce that the MC took over the body of one her revenge targets out of nowhere. Reading about the conclusions she is reaching in regards to the MC's sudden change using only the information she can access and the actions she takes in response to that is fun. Then there is the situation in how she suffered tremendously in the hands of the 4 revenge targets which blurs her purpose of whether her plan is for them to repent or just satisfy her thirst for revenge. It's like her sense of morality, emotions and logical thinking can't balance itself so her actions and purpose are a mess, leading to her seeming like a hypocrite. I'm looking forward to see whether she develops for the worse or will actually manage to fix herself.Unfortunately, the other characters are just so damn boring including the MC. MC is just a regular guy whose only solution to every problem is stay away from it as much as possible, which is funny at first but starts to get annoying. The reader girl is the typical heroine that has a unique hobby that only the MC can relate to. As for MC's female guarding knight, I could barely remember much about her other than she teaches MC how to fight. While the other 3 revenge targets are just the regular third rate villains.Maybe I'll check this out again after there are enough chapters after the betrothal competition to see if there any interesting developments but for now, one good character in a bland story is not enough for me to continually enjoy reading this.
