As it was set up to be a battle of the senses, it seems Iggy is key to fight against this foe.  He is truly fearsome.  From 4km away, the blind N’Doul is fighting, not by sight, but by sound.  It’s a cool image of him sitting alone in the desert, far away, while the horrific water chases after the boys.

Through the panic over what the stand was and Kakyoin wanting Polnareff to cut into the canteen, it made me think about Polnareff and Kakyoin’s relationship.  He shows some sass when it comes to Polnareff which is rare when it comes to the others.  He yelled at Polnareff to make his own coffee in the submarine, and he ordered him around here while responding he “didn’t feel like it”.  I recall some other moments like this too but can’t pinpoint them right now.  However, I feel it’s been like this for awhile.  Maybe since the experience they had with Abdul being shot, back then Kakyoin elbowed Polnareff’s face in as a sign of tough love and maybe that’s how you could summarize their dynamic.  Kakyoin cares about Polnareff but is a bit snappy and tough with him.  I like that, and later to go with that, Polnareff was the one to save Kakyoin this time where it was him who saved Polnareff against Hanged Man and Emperor.

There was definitely a great sense of tension as the water snuck up on its foes and sliced their eyes.  It seems this N’Doul person wants to make others share his fate.  Jotaro looked seriously concerned for Kakyoin which was sweet and for a moment I wondered if he was really going to be blind.  I had to ask if hamon could heal that, although there isn't explicit mention of hamon’s healing properties in this part from what I can remember, nor do I think it was that prevalent in Battle Tendency so maybe I should drop this theory of Joseph healing the boys offscreen.  This is the time to see if it holds any weight I suppose!  Also, that scene reminded me of Caesar’s eyes being cut by Wham just light enough to not be permanent damage so I imagine that’ll happen with Kakyoin too.

Kakyoin's poor eyes fell victim to Geb's horrible sharpness after seeing it tear off and drag the even poorer guy's head into a water canteen. Ndoul's blind so he has to rely on sound to get the job done but it won't be a difficult thing for him to do it seems. Iggy being the wildcard is the only thing that'll change the situation.

You know things aren't going well if Joutarou is freaked!

Man, Kakyouin's eyes were cut!
