Why Medieval Era?

Even then, instead of half-assing the past, they should at least follow one of the 8 virtues of the Bushido Code. Honor. Or in this case whole-assing it, researching or even better developing original ideas which can join together with already existing past weaponry or tactics.

It's because the protagonist would have an advantage over the original residents as someone who came from the "future" and possess more knowledge than them.

The part about inventing new term is the hardest part.
First, you think because it's not earth, you want to make different entities that being called with that world language
Then you realize, why the heck the other stuff still called in earthling's language though it's not in earth? So you try to make a term in that world language for those stuff (ex : clothes, food, etc)
Then you got another epiphany, why the heck the character use earthling's language?
And in the end you create a novel with an entirely new language...

In short, it's better to have a comparison rather inventing a new stuff entirely. Also accept that there will always a comparison

Dang, even i got a bit confused about what i told above

Well, medi-fantasy is just a good fit for magical settings I guess? Like...

If I wanna make a story with Orcs, Dragons, Elves and what not, I want to portray the usual characteristics that are associated with those races... And those generally shine better in medi-fantasy settings.
Similarly, Priests, Mages, Kings and stuff mainly have their roles working in medi-fantasy settings.

It would be weird to see dragons flying near Airplanes or Orcs in suits working 8h shifts in an office job... I mean, maybe it could be fun to read about, but that's not what I want to write about when I make a fantasy story.
Or like... Mages working at hospitals to cure people, priests asking the gods to give people divine protection when they're going through domestic abuse and stuff... It would be weird~

And I think swords and magic just go well together. Guns and Magic often leaves a weird aftertaste in my mouth, I don't like it at all.

So... Medi-fantasy just seems like the best way to go whenever you want to write anything about a fantasy world? At least IMO.

Huh? Relate to me how my explanation is connected to how the witch trials started?
Please do, you whetted my curiosity, and now it's craving for ye knowledge dwelling your astral pools.
Full "circle", but the "circle" here is not a circle. At most, it could be interpreted as infinite, if not endless, and eternal, if not timeless. There may have been breakthroughs in such perverse methodology, but I doubt they were able to achieve their initial objective. We, consumers of such fiction (or not), have all seen and read what happens when someone accidentally enters a "realm" beyond their understanding, and to make it simple. It's like buying a high level player's account, but doesn't know shit about the high level player's strategy, items, and whatnot.
