What Women Want in Male Lead

I like ML that are strong, alpha males that have a life partner in their FL.

Characters that other misunderstand and think is cold, but in reality holds their partner in such high regard that they treat her as an equal.  To be an equal the FL has to stand up tall herself and put effort into it.

Unfortunately, most Asian novels I read usually see women as trophies or two dimensional or worse with misogynist twisted lenses, in a society that subjugates females or have them as second class citizens.  When you have a strong alpha male standing beside his female partner, it is as if she can only rise with their support....which is unfortunately true in such a society.

I'm into reincarnation/transmigration type novels so I come across this conjugation of circumstances often ~

Some novels with my favourite ML include in no particular order ~

Malicious Empress - Completed and still have a crush on Xie Jing Xing ~

Poison Genius Consort

Divine Doctor: Daughter of the First Wife

Ghostly Masked Prince Xiao: Pampering and Spoiling the Little Adorable Consort

I wanted punch overbearing asshole CEO President that's say you are mine mine mine to mc as if she is his toy. Later, he abused her and rape her. If I ever meet him in real life, I will beat him out and say that I am not his because he didn't give birth to me,  I am only mother's because she give birth to me.

I only like male lead is decent mature positive character. He should be loyal and DOTING much.

Well if I met that kind of guys in real life, I will keep distance from them. I found them as emotional vampires. Moreover, I always wanted to live a peaceful and a healthy life. Therefore, I don't want to be involved with them for real.

Even though that's what I want in real life, I still read novels with that kind of male lead. But I will read only if the female lead must be smart enough to deal with the male lead.

I also read these types of novels because I think it will become an interesting challenge towards the female lead. It will only spark my curiosity to read further the novel.

I recommend a manga where the male lead is not shitty: Bread and Butter

Its really interesting, but I guess male leads are only rude to other people? I didn't read them so dunno but, I guess that could be interesting for girls. I mean, the difference between how they actually act and how they care for a female lead, that difference is huge so it has a strong emotion? *feel special*, probably.

Not sure if there's any point in trying to psychoanalyze around 50% of humanity based on a very specific subset of romance novels.

Counterpoint, Inuyasha's male cast consists of what? A bratty mutt, a perverted monk and a kidnapping obsessive wolf.

If you want to compare, you would have to either look at all anime or with a more diverse cast. For example, the valantine chocolate polls/rankings.

Overall, I am under the impression that some women just don't care about personality, as long as the guy is good-looking and some manner of powerful. It's not restricted to Chinese novels. Like how Sesshoumaru is the most popular guy (among female viewers) in Inuyasha, even through he is a villain, hates humans, and his name is unpronounceable.

I think when gay men write about relationships and/or sex, it's called "bara". While the topic seems similar, it is likely very different in the way it's done.

Care to explain it to people who didn't grow up with face culture in more detail?
Or did you mean that the guy is just that good-looking that nobody cares about his personality?

I really hate how (nazi) people who use made-up words like "weeaboo" complain about purity of English language.
English isn't even a pure language in the first place. You pirated words all over the world.
