Has anyone else ever been bothered by descriptions of kissing in novels (possibly mostly BL, I haven't tallied or compiled stats) that inevitably involve a lot of saliva? As in, so and so kiss deeply [... yada yada yada ...] and as they pull away there is a "silver thread" connecting them. Does this actually sound appealing to some? Because honestly, as someone who enjoys kissing but is very put off by globs of saliva, this sounds kinda... gross? I usually fast-forward through that sentence, and it doesn't bother me too much, but some authors seem really into this and can't have two people kissing without it devolving to copious drooling.
