Can Jap Isekai Novels send their MC in a world that is not inspired by Fantasy Medieval Europe?

I thought that might be a refreshing read until a got a bit in and realized it is take mideval europe fantasy and replace magic with starships. It even has a sci-fi version of an adventurers guild, a unfair class system in a government that does not care for its population (based on the background of one of the harem members), and poverty levels that do not make sense (in space you can have so much room that hydroponic farm for both food and air is easy, but everyone other then the rich is stuck eating artificial food. Plus overcrowding is solvable by just making another space station to do some other task, if real food is so expensive a farm station would be a no brainer investment)

Sometimes I think truck-kun senses and targets "amature" master chefs

Try reading sengoku komachi kuroutan. The author put a big effort at writing that novel. He even put citations and references for his webnovel at syosetsu.

Because there is generic princess, kingdom, adventure guild, fantasy creature, and shitty Noble theme, so maybe thats why every isekai got European theme trope..

Also, true that's why I translate only dropped novels.

Paying to translate 20 chapters before knowing if it's a worthwhile investment is just dumb

I read a lot of historical novels, and they honestly offer a lot more depth for a writer to explore than you'd see with fantasy or fake historical novels.  The problem is that these books require a lot of specialized knowledge and a lot more effort to write.  A historical novel lacking these can end up being pretty bad.

The other problem is that otaku are only exposed to other otaku works, so the only historical setting they're going to be familiar with are going to be Sengoku era and the Shinsengumi.  Besides they don't want to put effort into their works anyways so the subject isn't going to matter that much.

Its popular and easy to write cause there so much material in existence already to use as references.

Honestly, it depends on how the writer crafts the story and tropes to fit into the world that makes it better.

If the writer gonna craft a brand new spanking world like how Harry Potter is the web novel might as well be a book from the get go lol.
