Basically, Ming Lan and the other two brothers (Shang Ming Jing and Shang Ming Qing) all meet again, though Ming Lan lives in a Mansion with Beverly, who is Julian's fiancee and is taking care of Ming Lan under Julian's request. Ming Lan is now called Angla because that is the name Julian gave her. While Ming Jing was trying to take some photos and practice his photography skills, he sees through his camera someone who looks like Ming Lan. When Ming Lan and Ming Jing both recognize each other after a closer look and both greet each other after a long time. Ming Jing finds an excuse to leave and feels awkward about the encounter because he feels betrayed that ming lan never sent him any letters, despite not knowing Ming Qing exchanged Ming Lan for the top surgeons for Jing's surgery. He crashes into a tree and gets a nosebleed. Ming Lan helps him and from there, their relationship slowly builds and becomes less awkward like the old times when they got along well. Ming Qing accidentally encounters Ming Lan while looking for Jing by asking a senior (girl older than him) to make a broadcast to find Jing. When Ming Lan sees him, she slaps him without an explanation and the senior girl gets really pissed because she didn't know the full story and thought Ming Lan slapped Qing for no reason. Fast forward to a student club festival event, qing is actually cross-dressed as a pirate and his slap imprinted got covered with makeup for the event. After the event, the senior girl asks qing who that girl is and why she slapped him. Qing gives an ambigious answer and claims that he got slapped maybe because he is a pirate. The senior girl wonders about qing's ambigious answer and realizes a pirate has a negative connotation and wonders why a top student like qing would label himself as a pirate. The senior girl decides that her school life will be must more interesting to watch the drama unfold. Meanwhile, Beverly prepares a welcoming party exclusively for Ming Lan to introduce her to the school and make her be recognized as an important person, but her plan fails because ting ting got in the way and recorded Beverly blackmailing qing to do all the chores for the event, while Jing is locked up in a room and has food prepared for him. After Ming Lan gets pissed by Beverly for getting the brothers mixed into her business, she decides to leave the mansion and rent a cheaper place. Following the aftermath of that messy party, Qing finally spilled part of the truth to jing that he exchanged Ming lan for the surgery. Jing goes to the mansion to find ming lan and wants beverly to give ming lan back to him, so they can become family of three again. Qing finds out through Jing that Ming Lan moved out of the mansion and corners her at the run-down place to tell her that she is foolish for leaving an extravagent lifestyle and taking the name "Ming Lan" back. They have a verbal argument, which leaves ming lan in tears and qing just walks away from her. Beverly basically hires some bullies in her class to bully ming lan, so she can regret her decisions for leaving and beg to come back as angla. Ming lan is super stubborn, so she accepts the bullying and doesn't report back to the teachers. Beverly observes her and the bullies tell her that it is no fun to bully ming lan because she doesn't fight back. During PE, ming lan gets first place in a race and continues running even when the PE teacher told her to stop. The PE teacher grabs her and she gets PTSD and mistakes PE teacher as captor, so she throws him and gives him a head concussion, which got her in trouble and she had to do a write-up on why she injured her teacher. Jing and Ting Ting find ming lan after the scolding and ming lan suddenly gets a stomach ache. Jing carries her to the infirmary along with ting ting guiding him. When they reach the infirmary, jing and ting ting find out that ming lan got her period and jing volunteered to buy pads for ming lan, but gets embarrassed with ppl staring at him when he walked out of the store. Scene shifts to beverly and ming qing, who witnessed the event of jing and ming lan. Ming qing actually ditched his martial arts club tournament match because he found out ming lan got in trouble in PE, but had a look of relief when jing took care of ming lan. Beverly and Ming qing are then sitting together to discuss about ming lan. Qing confesses that Ming Lan is someone who is precious to him and that he wants her to be happy because that was his mother's last wishes. He believes that ming lan is foolish for leaving the mansion, which is why he got so angry at her. He threatens beverly that if she does anything bad to hurt ming lan, he won't hold back. Beverly gets really scared of him to the point of tearing up a bit. After Ming Lan wakes up, Jing basically tells ming lan that he knows everything and that he will take care of ming lan from now on if his brother refuses to accept ming lan as a sister. Jing and Ming Lan continue to hang out together despite his brother's protests until one day, some unknown person tries to assasinate ming lan under someone's orders (a.k.a. julian's uncle). Julian's uncle hates ming lan because Julian is too obsessed with her and also because his sister (Julian's mother) died under mysterious circumstances in a fire accident in a cruise (perhaps, it may be related to Julian's dad), so he is super overprotective of Julian. Qing and the senior girl catch ming lan in a camera leaving the school grounds to a prohibited area and qing chases after her. They both almost got killed, except qing was smart enough to jump off a cliff while protecting ming lan despite his gunshot wounds. They both miraculously survive and ming lan and qing both have a heartfelt conversation as ming lan is trying to carry ming qing. Qing refuses her help and they both sit and lean on a tree for a while as ming lan shares her past. Qing didn't hear the full story because he passed out from major blood loss. Ming Lan manages to piggyback qing to the hospital and tingting & jing both visit him. Ting ting blames ming lan for getting qing hurt and jing basically distracts ting ting by telling her she has class soon and gets her out of the room because he's annoyed with ting ting too. Ming lan comes in and tells jing she needs to have a convo with qing in private while smiling, which throws both of the brothers off. Ming Lan tells qing she lied to the police about the perpetrator and that they got injured due to stumbling across hunting grounds, so he has to match her alibi. Qing asks Ming Lan why she would do that and she tells him that Julian's family is extremely dangerous and not to be messed with. They part ways after talking and qing tells Ming lan to take care. As Ming lan leaves the room, she thinks about the past and tears up a bit because she is confused about qing's actions in the past when he said that he will get her back one day. Ming lan thinks to herself that it is impossible now and qing is in his room clutching to his shoulder wound as he is calling ming lan's name.
Going to fast-forward to the most important parts of the story, Qing eventually decides to get Ming Lan back from Julian, though he gets abducted by Julian's henchmen. Julian takes qing to an isolated room and taunts him that he can't get ming lan back because he already gave up that right. Qing retorts back by saying that ming lan is his family and that ming lan doesn't even like Julian.When Julian hears this, he almost beats up to Ming Qing to death and ming qing once again ends up in a hospital. Ming lan was the one who found his bloodied body and regrets trusting Julian. Little did she know that Julian beat him up on purpose because he wants Ming Lan to hate him because he knows that she will never have the same feelings like he does for her, so he rather have her remember him even if through hate. He's a yandere for sure. Another plot twist is that julian's uncle is reaching end-stage of cancer and is dying. My guess is that Julian doesn't want to elope with ming lan because in the end, he respects his uncle and has to hide away his feelings for ming lan (a.k.a angla). He even attends the funeral and ignores beverly during the event.
More fast-forward to the plot and after qing recovers, ming lan and qing are walking together and they encounter the dad by accident, who is now a wanted criminal for the murder of bai ting ting's father. He almost gets run over by a car and then qing looked really worried for him, though the dad doesn't get run too badly and still manages to run away from his "adopted" children. Qing silently walks away and ignores ming lan the entire time. Ming Qing tries to run away from ming lan, but ming lan catches up to him and they can an unintended race. Min lang finally catches up to ming qing and demands an explanation. Ming Lan tells Ming Qing that what she most dislikes about him is that he always hides the truth from the family and carries the burden by himself. After some thought and ming lan's convincing speech, he decides that from now on, he will tell the truth to ming lan no matter what and won't hide. Eventually, he wants to tell ming jing the truth as well, but fears that jing's heart will break because jing still hasn't come to accept ting ting's death and has not faced reality yet. ming lan's stomach is rumbling and breaks the serious mood. They both stop by a nearby restaurant where qing confesses that he was not afraid of his dad as he thought and thinks his father is just a foolish man. Once qing spilled the beans to ming lan about everything, they finally get closer than ever and ming lan is able to move forward away from the past. As ming-lan and qing part ways, they both reach home. Both Ming qing and ming jing are having their own separate flashbacks about their own memories with ming lan, which is a hint for us readers that both brothers have a crush on ming lan. On the other hand, ming lan is thinking back about her memories of qing and suddenly she thinks about ming qing pushing her into a bed in a storage room at the run-down apartment (which does happen during the time when both ming qing and lan were arguing about her leaving the mansion), though ming lan has a blank face and then covers herself with her sheets (she is feeling embarrassed)
Another time-skip, especially when ting-ting's caregiver suspects that qing had connections to the murder of ting ting's father. Qing gives the caregiver all the information and files he had when he recorded them in the past and is also working with the senior girl to find the culprit since both the senior girl and qing belong to the same hacker organization. They both find out about this substance called "blue water drops" which is what the assasin tried to inject ming lan when they were in ouxili. He briefly wonders about this and both the caretaker and the senior girl are wondering what qing is thinking about. Senior girl teases Ming qing that he is probably thinking about thay girl (a.k.a. ming lan) and explicitly states that qing has feelings for her, which he denies. Ting Ting reunites once again with Qing when he comes to America briefly due to the caregiver's request and asks him to stay with her forever. Qing declines her offer and tells her that he has family and can't leave them. As he is just about to walk out the door, ting ting tries to guilt trip him into staying with her and that he needs to repent for killing her father by staying with her the rest of her life. He tells ting ting to let go and that he is leaving with a smile on his face. Ting Ting is calling curses after him and the caregiver is pulling her back, trying to calm ting ting down. The caregiver decides that ting ting is to never meet with miss ting ting again after causing her so much pain. Even though qing didn't actually kill ting ting's father, he did play a role and wasn't innocent in the case because he was following his own father's orders during that time, though he switched the wines and got the poison detected early in ting ting's father's body. Otherwise, the Ting ting's uncle would have never been caught.
Scene switches back as qing is back at the airport and greets jing and ming lan at the airport. The first person he sees is Ming Lan with an umbrella and he hugs her. Ming Jing witnesses the scene and runs to greet his brother. More fast-forwarding to another scene when ming lan, ming jing, and ming qing are finally reunited as three and get to live together. They are all staying at ming lan's place and the property manager tells them that she is temporarily letting them all three stay in one room, but the brothers will have to eventually move out due to crowding issues. When jing walks in, he sees a bug and freaks out, but ming lan kills it with her bare hands. As they settle back in together, they do have a lot of troubles, especially with boys and girls living together, such as ming lan hanging her underwear in the bathroom. Jing saw this and blushed lol.
Scene changes to mother's death annivesary and the three children (ming lan, jing, and qing) all visit her grave. They bring flowers to her grave and jing takes some pics of ming lan holding some flowers. It's a peaceful scene for the siblings since all of those events and most of the drama and pain is almost over. There's an important hint in this scene because while ming lan is standing in the middle of the flower fields as ming jing is taking photos, ming qing and ming lan are both staring at each other, which is an indicator of their romantic feelings.
Now, more fast-forwarding to the future when both ming lan and ming jin are seventeen years old, ming jin goes to his photography club dance event and meets this girl that looks very similar to ming lan, except she is extremely stylish and flirty. He looks exactly like his ideal type since this girl looks very girly. This is very important detail because it is very clear that ming jing likes ming lan, but he imposes his own ideals about what a girl should be like into ming lan. When he lived together with ming lan along with ming qing, he says "Ming Lan, why can't you be stylish and wear cosmetics?" It's funny because Qing responds to his question by saying that ming lan is already pretty and doesn't need makeup. ^W^ Her name is Tang Ying, and she has black wavy hair with a silver infinity (sideway 8) clip on her hair and has violet eyes like Julian. Her appearance is very similar to ming lan minus the tomboy attitude/style and hair/eye color. She wears a crop top and short skirt when she was dancing and held jing by his uniform tie and then left after her friend called her over. She leaves after having a short flirty encounter with Jing and Jing stares at her in a daze as he states in his own monologue that "he has fallen in love".
Well, it turns out that during that encounter, Ming Jing actually exchanged contact info with Tang Yin and they even started dating. Ming Qing complains that Jing hasn't been studying at all and has been going on his phone too much. Qing eventually mentions that Jing must be too busy dating to study, which jing denies and lies about. Ming Qing and Ming Lan apparantly found out that he is dating tang yin and that shocked Jing because he never told them. Ming Lan said both qing and her found out because when they tried to find jing at the photography club, the club members said he left with a girl named Tang yin and rumors circulate fast around the school because jing is apparantly a popular athlete and also popular among the girls. Jing blushes and reveals that it is true that he is dating her, though both ming qing and ming lan think ming jin is dating a girl because he is entering this photo competition that has a theme of love and he wants to win prize money, which jing also denies, but ming qing and ming lan are giving him the "unbelievable" look lol.
