(the below spoilers come from my understanding of Google mtl. Read at your own risk)

Well, he does kinda become OP enough to deserve the dorm he is in, though he hasn't taken the advancement exam. He also learns to use his water-bean Aka weapon pretty nicely.
His power comes from his family bloodline. It is mistaken by others (i. E everyone not his family) as something completely different than it actually is.
As a side note, he wins a beauty contest (in which both genders can participate but still, only females do) when he cross dresses as girl.
Also, his rival at that time is a girl who is jealous of his relationship with his senior.. . 

isn't that the one who got the memory is chu ming yang and he gave it to his cousin? also, chu ming yang's power is his kinda mind/wish, right? 

The novel is Taiwanese not Chinese so they shouldn't even be compared in the first place. Plus this came way before Chinese novels were really being translated anyways. 

I don't think he fights like what you think. He is kinda strong, though his opponents' level is way higher than him. I think you'll like him more in season 2. 

You think he's the battle type? Well think again.

And he's already OP. That's how things work. 

To think i'll make the stupid mistake of reading this thread again, only to get my hopes up..then down. Someone please translate this novel again.
