It's kind of weird that we hear about Sanni, Liuni, and Zhou Xia but the Second Family actually has another daughter. I don't think she was ever mentioned aside from a comment saying that Sanni and Zhou Xia take after their father while Liuni and "the other one" take after their mother, in temperament. Second Sister-in-Law was pregnant at the same time Third Sister-in-Law and Zhou Xiao Mei were pregnant. When Zhou Xiao Mei gave birth to Su Cheng, she had Third Sister-in-Law help breastfeed her son who was being raised by her mother in the village. This caused endless jealousy from Second Sister-in-Law as the Su couple often gives Third Sister-in-Law a lot of food/ration for her help. Both Second and Third Sisters-in-Law gave birth to girls. Going by the nicknaming tradition, Second Sister-in-Law's daughter would be "Bani" (8th girl) and Third Sister-in-Law's daughter would be "Qini" (7th girl).
*When Second Sister-in-Law went to live in the county seat to take care of Zhou Xia's children, it said that Liuni went with her. But Liuni supposedly disappeared to who knows where (after her rebirth). So I'm now convinced that this "Liuni" that went with Second Sister-in-Law is most likely "Bani". The author consistently makes mistakes with character names (she does this often with MC's three sons).
I cried so much for Sanni and her decision to get married. But I'm glad that Li Ai Guo truly loved and doted on her and they had a happy ending. As for Zhou Xia, my heart broke for the young boy, especially that time when MC caught him eating the leftover watermelon rind of San Wa. But despite whatever complaint his mother had, Zhou Xia always felt grateful towards MC and ML for helping him get an apprenticeship. Although his wife, Ma Miaomiao is snobby, her attitude towards MC and ML changed when she found out that they were from the capital. Second Sister-in-Law needed a daughter-in-law like Ma Miaomiao to put her in her place.
Second Brother is such a good person. He wanted so much to do business but his wife wouldn't allow so he ended up being the poorest among his brothers. But Sanni is filial towards her father and often privately sends him money as well gift clothes only for him. MC and ML also bring Second Brother to the capital to work as a supervisor for the apartment complex they were building.
