Ex sends dowry of 64 bags to marry her as a lowest concubine, she and her brother rejects and beats up the people.
He comes with yellow sedan to take her, she wears white and goes to pray her ancesters, he tries to catch her, she approaches a cliff where Hubby guy will come to her rescue when she makes ex jump into the river.
She starts developing her martial arts and medicine with the Hubby who is dense.

Ex's princess poisons his father and doctor who examines him says if a happy event happens he may be able to wake up, Ex's mother suggests marriage with princess but Ex is not sure as his father like the MC.
So he goes and demands MC marry him, for which she bets with him, if she can cure his father then the engagement is void, if not she will marry him, her hubby is the Proof for this bet.
She cures his father and exposes the princess, Ex tries to delay by saying shit but MC forces him to write a divorce letter.
Her Aunt tries to make things difficult for her by getting her drugged, instead she gets drugged and sleeps with homeless, later MC exposes her daughter is illegitimate for which she is kicked out.
MC's uncle tries to marry her brother to an ugly girl to secure his son's position, but his son end up being her fiance (Ugly is a good girl).
MC's uncle arranges a plot for his son to marry a powerful background girl by letting him touch her inappropriately.
MC's uncle tries to poison the Ugly but the ugly is saved by MC.
MC exposes that the Uncle's son is not his but a powerful enunch's and that enunch is the one who helped him a lot, Uncle gets angry demands justice from emperor. Emperor removes the enunch's official status and lets him take the son and wife of uncle.

What's the political situation that he, the ex, is so desperate to marry MC? Will he, ex, be the crown prince with the backing of the foreign nation and MC's family behind him? I just think that it was too fishy for the ex to go that far just to get her to marry him... sorry, for being annoying in questioning this...

No it isn't the emperor. In fact the emperor is quite a wise person, and later his son (the crown prince) has innocent crush on MX.

It had been told several times that he had crush on MX's mother. Then it was told that the culprit was one of 4 MX's father's friend, and old Jing Wang was MX's father's best friend, he's also the last person and the only person beside MX's father before his death.
Then there's a matter of why he was fixated of getting his son married to MX.

The last I read is chapter 833 in which MX got kidnapped by one of the prince from the country where the aunty was sold as slave (the prince surname is Tuoba, I forgot his name though...) soon after they got married. And then she and OS was involved in the throne dispute there and hasn't return back to their homeland.....

Bc how useless she was, eventually Ye Yichen felt out of love with her. She kept doing useless plot, such as plotting MX's death, sabotaging MX, pretending to protect YYC etc.
In one of her plot, there was some kind of attack (forget when), she injured herself trying to protect YYC. (the attack was planned by her) She got blind by some kind of poison and the only cure was to substitute her eye with the eye of a person with cold poison (we all know who this person is). By then YYC had already fed up with her, but let her stayed bc he felt guilty. Then YYC tried to took MX's eyes bc by his logic, he would give MX's eyes to QYY (bc that's what he owed to QYY) then send her back to her country, marry the blind MX and be responsible of MX for the rest of her life. Ouyang ShaoChen even praised him for being such a "romantic", that OSC couldn't even beat YYC in that part.
Anyway, she kept plotting and plotting and eventually got cray cray and used some kind of forbidden technique to control a great great many vicious bloodsucking mosquitoes to attack OYC's villa (with hot spring, various nobles and imperial family also the emperor came to vacationing). MX, OSC, and YYC worked together to exterminate all the mosquitoes. After then QYY killed her self (or died bc she exhaust all of her energy? I forgot).
