I'm not far enough to really say much but the MC speculates they might have some kind of past life together. She often dreams of a woman who looked just like her and a man that looked like the ML, they were both on the battlefield fighting against the enemy with I think only(?) the MC dying? Don't remember if the ML look alike died too. Later when the MC ends up asking him about some things, it turns out the ML seems to be missing some of his memories from his past. This is as much as I know (currently occupied reading raws for another novel).

MC is the daughter of two people who were heirs of their respective sects and they had a tragic story. MC's mom was the only daughter and designated heir of the head of a medical/alchemical sect and somehow got amnesia and got lost from the sect. Her father and adoptive brother (the uncle named Bai) both believe she is still alive somewhere and keep hunting for her. While in amnesia, MC's mom met the heir of another powerful martial arts sect and they fell in love. There was opposition to their marriage from the sect elders because they didn't know the background of MC's mom and thought she was a useless woman with no power. Shortly after they married against opposition, the sect was contacted by someone from the Spirit world posing as a Goddess. She promises them great power and riches as well as help in ascending to the Spirit World if they can fulfil her conditions. She asks for MC's dad to be given to her as she falls in love with him on first sight. MC's dad disagrees and somehow gets afflicted with a disease or poison (don't remember which) with permanent and horrible effects. One of the sect elders who was also illicitly in love with MC's dad (despite being his aunt's generation) secretly sends people to assassinate MC's mom who flees while pregnant with MC. While fleeing, MC's mom gives birth and leaves MC with Lan Yue while leading the assassins away from MC. The assassins leave MC's mom for dead but don't see her actually die. So, there's suspicion that MC's mom is still alive somewhere.
