Spoiler: General StoryThis is a story of friendship and reconciliation.

Our female lead, Cassia is a woman who valued her friendship with her childhood friend Diana.
When she discovered that Diana might be assassinated, she stepped in and worked hard to fulfill Diana's last request
"Please take care of my family"
Cassia formed a secret contract with Diana's husband. She will marry into the family and acted as a duchess and a stepmother until Diana's sons became adults.
The Royal family wanted to use the Duke as a pawn in a political marriage, and Diana's sons will be in danger because of that.
Enduring 7 years of a loveless marriage, atrocious gossips, and two sons who hate her... now Cassia is free.

She left the manor and lived in a small town where she spent her younger days with Diana.
Cassia bought an art gallery and made her living by showing paintings and opening a coffee shop.
She enjoyed her new life and started to paint as a hobby.

unfortunately, the peace didn't last long...

A mysterious man came and admired her paintings, Cassia befriended him, then she found out that the man is a runaway Prince.
Cassia wanted to learn more about the prince, but can't ask directly..
The Prince also wanted to learn more about Cassia, but unable to pick an appropriate question.
Both were hiding their identity.

Cassia also met her first love when she visited Diana's villa.
The only man who cried for Cassia and offered to erase the memory of Diana, if his deceased sister caused that much pain for her best friend.
Cassia didn't have the heart to tell him the truth about Diana's death..

Then.. her 2nd stepson came, he wanted to reconcile with Cassia but he didn't know that Cassia is already done with the family.
The 1st stepson also spying from a distance...

In the end, the Duke finally came to the town... asking why his wife just left without explanation.
The duke spent 7 years looking for the prince under the emperor's order and lowkey neglected the family because of that. POOR DUKE ACCIDENTALLY MET THE RUNAWAY PRINCE IN CASSIA'S CAFE LMAO.
There was no trace of whoever killed Diana, too.

so, Cassia's chaotic life begun...
I started this novel before i picked "Please Save My Child", the snail will post some spoilers asap

Spoiler: Male LeadThe male lead will be Michael. Diana's elder brother.
Prince Adolf formed something like a platonic friendship although he did have a crush to Cassia.
One of the reasons is that Michael roasted the prince early in the story . He won't be silent if Adolf hurts Cassia.
The Duke's real love is only Diana, but he cares about Cassia's wellbeing and reluctant to accept her as a wife.. but somehow he thought that the "arrangement" can work for a long time while Cassia is persistent with her goal : leaving the family when the 2nd son turned 18 years old

This has good premise and all. I cried when Cassia talked to Diana's grave (that time when she met Michael after years). Too bad up till 35, the first son's attitude to the revelation is dissapointing for me (plot wise). The author should include hints of Diana's murder so the Duke can tell his children (thus, the sons got the impact of the revelation). It will serve as the first son's guilt. Maybe some bits of incident to Cassia when she was a duchess works too. But he is busy searching for the third prince???? The first son's tantrum become justified because the whole stepmother thing is just 'Cassia working hard for nothing' aka the whole Diana was murdered maybe only happened in his late mother's head.

Well, first, that because Ken act immature.
Of course, he is angry that the best friend of his mother marry his dad as soon as she is buried. But he crosses multiple lines, he doesn't harass her, destroy important documents needed for her works, he is violent. His father explain to him that there is a reason for this marriage, but he doesn't care. Since he wasn't willing to compromised, he was sent to the army to at least limit their interactions.

His behavior is understandable while he is a child, turn out he didn't change at all once adult. He learns about the contract to protect him and his brother, but doesn't care. He is still angry and want her to suffer. Well, he didn't do anything yet.

In the end, he is now an adult, he has the mental capacity to understand that we can't have everything we want in life and circumstances of both sides, in the army he should have seen this type of situation. But that doesn't apply to MC case.
He knows about the contract to protect him
he knows about her giving him space
he knows about her not going outside at all for 7 years
he knows about her name being plumbed to the groundhe knows about her leaving as soon as her job finishedBut he doesn't care. He cares about
her taking the place of his mother
her trying to keep a good relationship despite taking the place of his motherhis dad and family becoming the target of gossipHe doesn't want to understand and even when he knows, he just blame her anyway because no ones asks her to do that (Well, turn out his mum did ask her). He doesn't change is point of view despite growing up and seeing her not being greedy in 7 years. That why people call him narrow-minded.

In Derrick from Death is the only ending, I keep it short, because it's another story. It's basically the same, he knows his sister Penelope is a trouble-maker and even when she acts with maturity and gain the trust of their father, he still treats her the same. But his case is a little different, since he ultimately wants to control her because of his trauma to be responsible for the death of his other sister. He used the "trouble-maker" card to justify her sequestration inside their home for her safety. Well, his mental safety to be précised.

Axion knew NOTHING because Diana kept it for herself. her family is not a grand one like Axion's, and actually the young Duke rejected the Emperor's proposal to marry him to a princess from the neighboring country to marry Diana. Yeah. The royal family is on the top list of the potential culprit. Diana dies = Axion can't reject anymore = Ken+Nick's position as the heir of the family will be doomed if Axion marries a woman who wants to get rid of Diana's children.

Cassia didn't mind being a decoy if Diana's murderer tries to kill her (so Axion can do his job to catch the culprit and protecting the wife), but unfortunately... nothing happened in her marriage (her reputation has literally plummeted to the ground as a husband snatcher, wicked woman who betrayed her bestfriend and other bad nicknames tho..). ALL FOR DIANA.
(why they don't go to yuri route lmao)


1. She still a duchess, so they automatically want to find her  , actually, Axion treated her well and he removed people who stand in Cassia's way (please do remember that their relationship had NO ROMANCE at all but they acted civil at each other and they use formal language when there are only two of them in the room). Axion didn't oppose the formal divorce but asked Cassia to wait until he has done with his duty (CATCHING THE PRINCE LMAO) so they can talk and sort all of the problems.

2. Nick (the youngest son) wants to treat cassia nicely like a real mother (after.all.this.years XDD)
and what he got when he finally found Cassia : "My duty as your stepmother has been ended, i can back as AUNT CASSIA". Nick tried to be helpful to get Cassia back (he became a waiter in Cassia's cafe and loves baking cakes while persuading Cassia everyday to return) but he is too busy with his goal that the prince roasted him for not trying to know what kind of person Cassia is  (on a personal level)

3. first son still doesn't trust her although now he knows about the contract. so he chooses to watch from afar.
His clash with Cassia is the worst day for both of them after Diana's death. Ken's tantrum ended with him running away from the duchy. They found Ken several days later in the cemetery (Diana's tomb). Axion enrolled Ken to a military academy to limit his interaction with Cassia. (tbh my heart is broken for him. His father just married HIS MOTHER'S BESTFRIEND without explanation whatsoever not long after his mother's death. his anger is kinda justified but he went TOO FAR).
Ken is the first one to notice Cassia's whereabouts but he choose to keep silent (but still go there and stalk his stepmother lmao).
