Damn, the final chapter being Griffith, Guts and Casca finally interacting after 20 years (the last reunion was in the hill of swords in 2001) feels like a cruel joke and it hurts so bad that it had to end there. I've been a longtime fan, 7 years now, and I always dreamt this reunion, how Griffith's humanity would appear and how Guts would react to seeing him again. How Casca and Guts' goals would diverge. This was a dream for me, always. It's cruel it has to end there. But I think this is an ending where we can imagine what we want next.
I wish Miura's notes could be published so we'd know what he was planning next. But with everything that happened, I would be glad as long as the future of Berserk is according to Miura's wishes. If he wanted it to continue, and this was a known fact (which is hard bc his death was sudden) then the assistants could try concluding it. If Berserk ends here, then I'd also be fine with it. It would be hard to continue Berserk without Miura's superb writing and excellent character depth after all.
In any case, after reading this chapter I'm left with a sense of frustration but I'm also moved because this is the last chapter and the last panels drawn by Miura. It's truly the end of an era, and Berserk as we know it, as Miura's creation, ends here. I'm deeply thankful for having read such an amazing story with such intriguing characters and jaw-dropping art. Thank you Miura
