Griffith was ready to cast him aside the second he rejected him, with no remorse, unless it was Locus, but why would Locus risk angering Griffith by killing Rickert if it wasn't what he wanted? It also seemed like the Bakiraka (or however you romanize their name) and Silat might be able to ally with Guts and Rickert as well at some point in the future, based on that ending. I'll be interested to see if that's what Miura was hinting at or

if griffith really ordered the assassination this says alot about the potential future of griffith and falconia. small conflicts are bound to happen. that paradise could quickly turn into a kingdom ruled by fear because of grffith's swift and merciless actions towards anyone who opposes him.
rickert potentially travelling with silat and meeting guts is pretty cool
