Berserk Chapter 17 Discussion

I really, REALLY loved this chapter.



Well written, well drawn. I really loved Guts' character development.

Griffith is such a well written character too. That ''also part of my plan'' line was lit.

Casca-Guts ship already sailed! Such chemistry between them.



All in all, the manga has been consistently delivering from the first chapter and I'm really glad I started it.

Guts and Casca have been butting heads for three long years. I wonder if they'll ever understand each other? Griffith has been promoted and finally has rank! I wonder how he plans on taking over the kingdom from within??

Guts is growning up to be a badass :) Great development on the story.

Well, that was certainly unexpected. o_o



What surprised me most is how... different Guts acted. He acted... human. Not just the cranky asshole he was before this timeskip within the flashback and before the flashback began. It's no surprise three years among allies and leading a team of soldiers would make him a bit more considerate and cooperative, but one can't help but wonder what happened to revert that personality change and turned him into the stony goat he is in the primary story.



Looks like Griffith's plan is working. Good for him.

Them not getting along is interesting.

Everything about this just screams "well written". This is like The Godfather of manga in terms of writing quality so far.



I really enjoy the dynamic of Gut's and Casca, especially with how pissed off Gut's got when Casca called him a mad dog. What set him off, though, was the comment about him not changing. Griffith saying that "that trait is, too, a part of my plans" was fantastic as well.

I wasn't expecting another time skip so soon but I think it makes sense... and it's only 3 years so I think it'll work out well

I'm glad we get to see Miura depict emotion and intensity in Guts' right eye in the early years while he still has it.

A whole troop of knights were greatly troubled by just one Guts~



They're knights now!

I have a bad feeling about whats going to happen next.
