Berserk Chapter 109 Discussion

And just like that, a new adventure begins !!

holy snap, that sword/large chunk of iron is sexy as f*ck. guts is such a bamf though. so long golden age arc, it was definitely a bittersweet ride. the band of the hawk will always live on.

And now the Golden Age arc is finished. What a masterpiece. I can't wait to see what Guts' journey will look like after the prologue

                        Guts is gonna kick some ass.

The Golden Age arc was quite awesome. I heard about the new anime and so in anticipation I want to finish the Conviction arc before summer. Hope the following arcs are just as good even if it's just with Guts.

This chapter was killer.



Guts gets that signature sword. When he walked outside and slashed the demon, he still managed to cut the house. Lol



Rickert being the one who came up with Guts' artificial arm is awesome.



That ending double page spread was amazing too.



And the chapter is titled "He Who Hunts Dragons"



... I mean come on, doesn't get much more bad ass than that.



Also, if this really is the end of the flashback, then god damn. One of the best flashbacks I've ever read. There was even flashbacks within the flashback, but it didn't detract from the experience at all, for me. I didn't want it to end!

Looks like this marks the end of the Golden Age arc, that was a pretty interesting back story to learn how things got to where Guts is now, I kind of feel bad for the guy. But now that he is going to spend his days as the Branded Swordsman, I'm interested to see where the story will go from here.

So the flashback ends. Overall really absorbing and interesting. However I did not find the sacrifice really tragic or sudden; we had understood from the black swordsman arc that Griffith had betrayed Guts and also there was enough foreshadowing in the whole golden age arc. I think it would be more intense if it came at least a bit as a surprise. Still that doesn't mean it didn't have an impact of course.

I wonder what's gonna happen next, I hope the following arc is just as awesome.
