Brilliant end to a brilliant volume. I wanted to write down more of my thoughts these past dozen or so chapters, but ended up being pretty speechless.
I don't think I saw any of the "main crew" get eaten, at least not yet. I'm still holding out for a miracle. A miracle called Guts going...Berserk™.
That double page spread with Guts charging forward was amazing. Pretty much the definition of GAR. Also, Zodd and the Skeleton Knight fighting at the end was intriguing.
This castle Griffith has his eye on better be one swanky masterpiece of architecture for all this crap he's causing.
The moment where Guts is pounding on the "pod" containing Griffith, remembering all the times he had with him. Powerful. I....can't even find the words for this sequence of events. Well, here's a few: Amazing, fantastic, epic, etc.
Griffith wanted to get rid of him. Because those emotions were a hindrance to him. He's a narcissist. He's not capable of empathy.
How is a vague and convoluted dream of power worth more than them? It's not clear to me why Griffith thinks that power will find him happiness. It's not like he has a real goal or passion beyond it. It's just power he wants. Just being at the top.
He even had that vision of him and Casca with a child, entertaining that such tranquility might be enough.
The art in this volume blew me away! Really amazing stuff.
Griffith’s decision didn’t really surprised anyone, I mean it was clear since day one that he is that kind of man who would give anything to achieve his ambitions. And wit anything I really mean it.
