Really glad that the robot doesn't actually completely defy the laws of physics. It's ugly and rough, as it would be. Pretty cool of Urasawa indeed

So that cheap metal robot killed five thousand peoples and not even one person from japanese forces were there to see what the hell is that thing and how to save tokyo. all they need was one good rocket launcher or tank and not that helicopter ( after five thousand deaths) to see atomic energy symbol

I suspect that's the plan - trick Kenji & co into detonating the "robot", causing virus to be released, blame Kenji and Co for causing the attack, imprison the survivors, and make them watch (like Bane intended Bruce Wayne to be forced to watch in Dark Knight Rises), while the Friends destroy the world using Kenji & co's "plan".

What a crappy robot ... Anyways it is somewhat depressing how events are transpiring. It is completely fucked up that Kenji becomes the villain and Friend is the good guy in all of this, but it seems it will be the masses that believed in Friend that will suffer the most from all of this.

I always found it strange that Urasawa would try to bend the laws of physics with that robot. Turns out he stayed gritty to the end.

Amazing chapter as always. Friend is a genius,he made a balloon with caterpillar legs to look like a freaky robot monster and now he is also going to become a hero by his so called "sacrifice "

So the "robot" is a balloon with caterpillars as feet, lol...

the cure is obviously a bluff, might also be including friend's "sacrifice". now kenji is the one to actually sacrifice dammit
