I get the idea, everyone who Ippo fought is loosing, no one is reaching the very top. As Takamura said, only monsters reside there, so the stage is being set for Ippo to become that monster and reach the top in place of all those who have fallen before him, but damn. Doesn't mean I like it. The whole story with Mashiba here, is his redemption, and it just falls flat with this pretty much. Morikawa just did Kimura 2.0 here, and even with him, he didn't follow through to the end, and just did lame reset on him, I wonder if he will properly finish the story with Mashiba now at least :/

Just want to mention, I predicted Mashiba would lose back 100 chapters or so when Ippo was reflected about Wally, Mashiba and Sendo all getting world title matches. I expected for all of them to lose in crushing fashion. But this man Morikawa, he made me believe Mashiba was going to win it all.

Greatest of all time, and sometimes I hate him for it.

I saw this coming from like 5 chapters ago, but it still feels like complete bullshit

Glad he didn't win ... I don't feel he deserves it yet

Also when are we going to see Ippo again?! The author is dragging this for long

We waited for months, weeks of breaks both expected and unexpected, for this....

Thats so unfair... My brother didnt deserve this.

Mashiba fight took a year, and end like this

Dog shit? For me, no

Thats what is boxyng, a sport is about

We can see parallels with the Kimura fight

We tought the same about Kimura

We can see parallels with the Sendou Ippo fight

We tought the same

I cried in the chapter before this, and was looking for a good end

That was a shock, and happens

Pass this line where only the monsters can pass

Mashiba took away his monstruosity

He was not in the league anymore

Mashiba evolve into a new human, and that was his win

His sister was proud him, and still.

Thank u Morikawa

I can barely make a comment about this chapter that isn't probably breaking a rule against violent threats.

I feel like this is a chapter that people hate now due to the slow release schedule but will come back years later and really appreciate it. Respect for Morikawa for actually going for such an upset. Not everyone wins, Mashiba has had a ton of character development and has become a much better person over the course of the series, that won't go away by losing in a fight. To reach the top you have to be a monster, Mashiba became human...

Also his loss serves as a nice karma for all the cheating he did in his career.

you hate this chapter/fight because you wanted ((him)) to win

I hate this chapter/fight because this shit has dragged for far too long.

Brutal af....

For what's worth it, his greatest victory has been becoming a better human.
